Expert Answers about Chevrolet RV Tire Covers

  • How Does The Classic Accessories RV Wheel Covers, part # 052963762501, Secure To The Tire
  • I went out to the warehouse and opened a package of the Classic Accessories RV Wheel Covers, part # 052963762501, to see how they attach to the tires. The top of the cover is shaped like a pocket with an elastic band on the inside of the cover. The cover is slipped over the top of the tire and the elastic band provides tension around the tire to keep the cover from coming off. I am including a picture of the wheel cover on a tire.

  • Method to Secure TireSavers RV Tire Covers ST7002WH in Windy Conditions
  • Enough wind coming from the right direction could affect stability of a tire cover like # ST7002WH or of an RV cover for that matter. In exceptionally windy conditions it might be advisable to place bungee cords or another type of retention strap around the covers to prevent loss in rough conditions. Covers like these are not formally rated for wind speeds so in the interest of protecting your tire cover investment an item like 24-inch Power Pull Bungee # EM06656 would be a worthwhile...

  • Storage Options For A SnapRing TiresSavers Tire Cover
  • The metal rings in the SnapRing TireSavers Tire Covers # ST7001WH can not be folded, but will lie completely flat for easy storage in your RV's cargo compartment when not in use. The ring can be somewhat squeezed down if you were trying to store it inside of a box but I do not recommend really forcing it as this could damage the ring.

  • What is the Best Way to Clean Classic Accessories RV Wheel Covers
  • I spoke with my contact at Classic Accessories and they said that the best way to clean the RV tire covers # 052963762808 is to use warm, clean water and NO soap. So a bucket filled with warm tap water and a sponge or soft cloth is the best way to clean the covers and make sure they are not damaged by harsh cleansers.

  • Is It Recommended to Have Leveling Blocks for Each Wheel on a Dual Wheel RV
  • If you are parking your RV for a short period of time, say for just a day or two, you should be okay. Anything longer than that and you will need to have leveling blocks for each tire/wheel. Ultimately you want your RV to be safe and stable when you have it parked. It is definitely more stable to have leveling blocks for each tire/wheel rather than trying to make sure that you get one leveling block just right for both. I have attached our selection of leveling block for you to look...

  • How to Extend the Life of Trailer tires
  • It really depends on how well the tire is kept, how often the trailer is used, if the tires have protection from the elements, and if they are used properly. If your 205/75R15 tires, like part # TR20515D, is 6-7 years old then we do recommend changing them out because the material will be worn enough from either sitting or being used. To make sure that you are getting the max life out of your tires you want to make sure that you are keeping the tires inflated to the manufacturers recommended...

  • How Often Should 5th Wheel Tires Be Changed When Tire Guards Used and Stored Under Car Port
  • I'll start off by saying, thank you for the picture; you can tell that you're taking the necessary precautions to maximize the life on your tires by not only keeping your 5th wheel shielded from the elements with a car port, but also using tyre guards like the Adco Ultra Tyre Gard RV Wheel Cover # 290-3953 to help specifically shield the tires from UV rays-which are especially hard on tires. • Would Trailer Not Sitting Level Cause Tire Wear Issues
  • A trailer that isn't level is going to wear out a tandem axle trailer's tires since the axles won't be evenly distributing the weight. You need to get the trailer level. If you don't have enough clearance to do so you can install a lift kit like the # RR23QX to gain 2-1/4 inches of height to the trailer suspension which will give you added clearance.

  • Could a Tire Cover Be Used on a Tire Mounted to a Bumper Mounted Tire Carrier # TR-1
  • A tire cover would install pretty easily on a wheel and tire mounted to the Bumper Mounted Tire Carrier # TR-1. It would basically just slip right over the tire. For example, if you had a 27 inch tall tire and had the CE Smith Tire Cover part # CE27430 it would just slip over the tire. Check out the picture I attached to see how it would install. If you are unsure what the diameter of your tire is and are looking to purchase a tire cover check out the FAQ article I attached to the right...

If your old cover needs to be cut off you can probably then pull it out from between the tire and the trailer. If the spare is so close/tight on the trailer that you cannot slip the cover over the back edge of the tire...

That said, the mounts for the rear wheels are designed to clip onto the outside lip of the wheel similar to a wheel weight. If this method will not work for your wheels then you may need to adjust the clip to better suit your wheels or possibly use some sort...
